Description
Frame wiring in a beehive is the process of installing stainless steel wires across wooden frames to support the wax foundation. This reinforcement helps keep the foundation straight and stable, especially during hot weather or honey extraction. The wire is threaded horizontally through pre-drilled holes in the frame and tightened using a spur embedder or crimper. When the wax foundation is added, the wires are embedded into it, providing strong support for the bees to build comb. Frame wiring is essential in both brood and honey supers, as it prevents sagging and ensures the comb stays intact during inspections and harvesting.
